The biggest outdoor rink in the UK opens up tomorrow at 5pm in Hyde Park!

London’s famous Winter Wonderland returns to Hyde Park this year yet again to treat the children and adults alike to this wonderful festive experience. Winter Wonderland opens its doors on Friday 23rd of November at 5pm. It will be open from 10am until 10pm from then until January 6th 2013. Winter Wonderland is closed on Christmas Day.

Admission is free into the grounds of Winter Wonderland so feel free to venture down and embrace the festive atmosphere. Tickets will be needed for the like of the Giant Wheel, Ice Skating and Winter Wonderland’s family favourite Zippos Circus.

As Winter Wonderland is situated in London’s Hyde Park (post code W2 2UH) the nearest tube stations are Green Park, Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner, Victoria and Knightsbridge. Winter Wonderland is home to the UK’s largest ice rink, a massive observation wheel, Christmas markets and lots more. Winter Wonderland 2012 welcomes the Magical Ice Kingdom a sparkling frozen realm where visitors will get to see more than 500 ice sculptures which have been sculpted over four months from more than 200 tons of ice. The Bavarian Village homes different cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy some sizzling sausages and even a warming cup of delightful mulled wine.

Along with the Giant Observation Wheel they will also be over 100 rides and attractions. The rides and attractions cater for the young and the old so do not be afraid relive the days of your youth with your children.

True to the Christmas spirit of Winter Wonderland there is also Santa Land, Santa will greet you alongside his elves in his grotto. He will hear the wish lists of the children. But beware he is checking who is naughty or nice and will only give gifts to those children who are being good.

The organiser recommends that visitors avoid coming by car where possible. However for those who do travel by car it is suggested to use Q-Park which is a large and secure car park, fitted with extensive CCTV systems and manned 24/7 by parking hosts who conduct regular patrols - download map here (pdf). No minimum age however, under-12s must be accompanied and the smallest skates for hire are children's size 9 (adult skates go up to size 13). You can use your own skates as long as they're not speed skates.

Wheelchair users are welcome on the ice.
